This review is for takeout.

This review is for takeout. For some reason, taking out from Leonardo 706 is a totally different experience. The portions are never as generous, the slices of cake are thin and narrow, and the food just does not seem to be as good.

Hope they could be consistent about this matter.

Take out

Wow. My experience is totally different. I have always found the take out to be just as satisfying as eating in. I often order filet mignon cooked medium, and even after being boxed and traveling home, the meat is always cooked perfectly and still hot. Portions are just as plentiful. Cake slices are enormous in or out. I'm sorry you had that less than satisfying experience. I honestly take out at least twice month and always, always am very happy... which is why I keep doing it! I would rate their take out a full 5 stars.

The Best Brunch

5

After a few months of strictly at-home breakfasts, I treated some friends to the Sunday Brunch at Leonardo's 706. My favorites were all there, just as I remembered them. I had fresh salmon, blintzes, killer mac and cheese, beet salad, chicken cacciatore, papaya, mixed fruit, fried polenta, flat bread and homemade pumpernickel. That was the first plate, and all of it was delicious. This spread is consistently good and has enough variety to satisfy most groups. I didn't mention the plethora of salads and Asian offerings. The food is creative and nicely presented. It is not budget, but is worth the price.

Gainesville Classic

Leonardo's 706 is one of my favorite local restaurants. Pretty much everything they serve is superb but I would trend more towards their american and euro cuisine. They keep a few asian inspired dishes on the menu seemingly for vegetarians and health conscious people. These dishes are good but overpriced for what they are. That being said I haven't had a bad meal there yet. I like to go on thursdays when they have live jazz or sunday for a good but pricey brunch. (this is a good time to meet the owners who frequenlty on sunday will be walking around giving out samples) Also if you go don't miss out on their deserts ..the best in town.
