:)
I recently stopped here with a friend for a quick bite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the different variety of rolls they offered. I also enjoyed a raspberry saketini which was very refreshing. It was the prefect blend of raspberry flavor with the hint of sake at the end. I would recommended it to my friend because it is moderately priced and the atmosphere was relaxing.
P.S. The music was like listening to my own MP3 player! I could steal a few things from their playlist :)
amazing food!
I love this place! The food is amazing and not high-priced! I am looking forward to eating their again. The only thing I can say is that I wish i knew the recipe for the pink sauce... it is amazing!!!!

I would like to first apologize for anyone who has had a bad experience dining at our restaurant. Secondly, I would like to thank all of you for taking the time to write a review (good or bad) about our Restaurant. My name is Paul and I am the current manager at Momoyaki. Due to the mixed reviews, I just wanted to take the time to set the record straight! In the following few paragraphs, I'd like to outline a few key changes and also address some of the reviews from prior customers.
Since our opening two years ago, we have been through several different changes including this last change during the week of March 8th 2010. Prior to the change, we used to be a casual dining/self-service Japanese restaurant with a few Korean dishes however, with the change in management (not owners) we took a chance to go full-service dining not only to provide better service but to introduce a new direction of being a more family friendly restaurant. As a result, we have spent a great deal of effort to maximize the pleasure, experience, and atmosphere of dining at our restaurant.
Granted its obvious each individual has different standards of evaluating a restaurant. Despite the criticism, I am confident the dishes we offer our customers is of the highest quality and taste. Up until now, one method I have used to evaluate the accuracy is to observe the amount of new & returning customers in addition to new customers from the native Korean & Japanese community. As some may or may not have noticed, a large portion of our customers are from the Korean & Japanese community. To me this is a sign that our food is one authentic, two delicious, and three consistent.
In addition to the renovated interior and menu we have taken a great deal of time to train our staff to not only provide excellent service, but to address any questions regarding our new menu. Due to the fact we value the quality of food, sometimes when we are busy it does take a bit longer to get your food. However, I assure you it is always fresh and tasty. Sure if we cut corners and pre-cooked our noodles and other dishes you may receive your food quicker but that would significantly reduce the quality, taste, and experience of our dishes, therefore, if you wait a bit longer to receive your food I would like to apologize in advance. Moreover in our defense, we have added 4 new Korean dishes since reopening (Kalbi-Korean BBQ short ribs, Boolgoki- traditional korean beef, Jeyuk Bokum-spicy pork, Oh Jing uh Bokum- Spicy Squid) and will be introducing Jja-Jang-Myun (which will be a one day special every week ) starting in August of 2010. Just to set the record straight, we are not an exclusive Korean restaurant like Miya Sushi therefore, we do not serve "panchan"-side dishes regularly. However, we do serve Kimchee and Dah-Muh-Gee per request.
I would now like to address the displeasure in the increase in price. In all honesty, the prices have NOT all increased, and I believe it is misleading. We have great lunch special which all come with either a miso soup or ginger salad. For example, a Veggie roll and avocado roll is only $5.50. A rice bowl or noodle bowl is only $6.95 which includes a soup or salad during lunch. There are a variety of different lunch specials that are under priced for your advantage. In addition, we still offer our famous rice bowls and noodle bowls at the same price as before even after lunch without the soup or salad. Many of our prices are on par if not cheaper than the other restaurants in town.
In closing, I hope this review has helped clear some uncertainties or clarify some doubts you may have about our restaurant. If you ever have a bad experience please feel free to speak to me in person or my co-manager Mike at any time. We would love to address your concerns or complaints in a timely and positive manner. Thank you.

Sushi prices are good but
Sushi prices are good but Sushi is hit or miss depending on who is working. Limited Korean food menu and typical Japanese food menu. Katsu, Teriyaki, Tempura, thats pretty much it. Nothing exciting and unique. Ginger Salad is a joke for $3.50 and the dressing is very sweet. I tried the chicken rice bowl with pink sauce because it was recommended. It's ok but the texture of the sauce reminded me of a sweet risotto. My girlfriend tried the pork katsu ricebowl with curry sauce. The pork katsu was really thin and dry. The curry is weak and tasted diluted. We ordered the spicy white tuna maki roll. Like most sushi restaurants in gainesville, it was escolar and not shiro maguro. Be weary of white tuna, 99% of the time it isnt tuna at all. Escolar is banned in Japan because of the laxative effect of the wax esters in its flesh. Overall very bland, boring, and sweet food and I wouldn't go back.
