I agree with the first poster. If I want a breakfast, I want Uppercrust. It is known around town and whenever I mention it, people go crazy talking about their favorite croissant.

Just walk into Uppercrust and you will know you have found Gainesville's premier bakery. Their bread looks like art stacked behind the counter of delicious looking croissants and deserts. In addition they carry a small assortment of gourmet grocery items and other expensive odds and ends including some dips and one or two other things you could have for lunch. Being a bakery however the baked goods are the focus and are all good. The croissants are the best around but very pricey. The bread is very reasonably priced and good enough you may forget you're not in Paris. Despite being the best in town, I recommend checking your loaf's bottom side, since they have a frequent tendency of burning it.
